PoY Points System

Points for Siouxland Player of the Year are gained by finishing in the top 16 places of the yearly scheduled tournaments below.  If there is a tournament with less than 16 in the championship flight (i.e. a final 9 like City and Rivercade), then the rest of the 16 are made up of those players who played the same tees and finished with the lowest scores.

There are multiple tournaments that count toward PoY points for both the Open and the Seniors.  Some tournaments are double points and some are single.

For the Open PoY points, there are 4 double point events of which the 3 highest point totals count.  Those events are: Tri-State Masters, Interstate, Rivercade and the City Championship.  For single point events there are 5 total and again the highest 3 count toward the total plus the Sioux Valley Amateur which never drops.  The single point events are:  Elk Point Early Bird, Lake Creek Amateur, Sioux Valley Amateur Match Play in Cherokee, Mid-Summer Am at The Ridge in Sioux Center and the LeMars Labor Day tournament at Willow Creek.

For the Senior PoY points, there are 4 double point events of which the 3 highest point totals count.  Those double point events are:  Tri-State Masters, Interstate, Rivercade and the City Championship.  For single point events there are 3 total events of which only the two highest point totals count toward PoY points.  Those three Senior events are the Mid-Summer Am at The Ridge in Sioux Center,  Siouxland Senior Open at Two Rivers and the LeMars Labor Day tournament at Willow Creek.

For both divisions, the Jividen Cup is always counted toward final point standings and is a double points event.  **NOTE** The defending Jividen Cup champions are always assigned the #1 seed.
